RER D to Vaux-le-vicomte

Hi, Can I use Single-trip "T+" €1,70 and take RER D from Paris (Le Chatelet) to Melun station to get to Vaux-le-vicomte? Is Melun station within zones 1 and 2 of the Métro/RER network? I know I can take a faster SNCF train at Gare de Lyon, but it will cost €8. Thanks,
Jenny

Melun is in zone 5. Whether you take the RER D or a SNCF train, a single ticket from anywhere in central Paris to Melun costs €7.80. On the day you go to Vaux-le-Vicomte you could buy a one day, zone 1-5 Mobilis pass for €14.20. It will get you to Melun and back to Paris and also cover any other rides you take that day in Paris.
