Reputable Apartment Rental Agency in Paris

I'm looking to rent an apartment in April as they seem to be a better deal for 3 adults, but I'm getting mixed advice on this site as well as others. There are some people that suggest not to go with an agency and then there are some that say don't go directly through the owners. Does anyone know if there is a reputable, easy to deal with agency? Or reputable owner? I'm looking for a 1-bedroom in either the 4, 5, 6, or 7er. Thanks!!!

I highly recommend the American-based company Vacation in Paris. (www.vacationinparis.com) You pay in dollars and have the keys in hand before you leave home. I rented from them last month.

The best apartments I know of are from vacationinparis.com. You can pick the arrondisement you want and the number of bedrooms. They are located here in the US and you can call them. Also, the Relais Bosquet Hotel has 2 very nice apartments. One is smaller and one is lovely and large.

I rented my 1 bedroom apartment in the 5th through VRBO.com. I had a very good experience.

Lisa, I just rented an apartment from Vacation in Paris earlier this month. They were great to deal with, and everything was just as it was advertised on their web site. I would go with them again if I'm lucky enough to get to Paris again.

Last year, our group of four rented a 2-bedroom apartment from Paris Perfect and loved it. We were in a lovely, safe neighborhood in the 7th, with a fantastic view of the Eiffel Tower.

Speaking for myself, I felt more comfortable dealing with an agency, rather than an individual. Our apartment was well maintained, stocked with everything you could think of and was exactly how it appeared on-line. Everything was included in the cost and there were no surprises. (It was just about $1,000 per girl for the week.)

I know they have 1-bedroom apartments as well and I'm pretty they are all located in the 7th.

I wouldn't hestitate recommending Paris Perfect.

I have used Vacation in Paris and "rentparis.com" Didn't have a problem with either.

Paris Perfect looks good, but for those prices I would not expect ANY issuses either :)

We have used both vacationinparis.com and iloveparisapartments.com and were well pleased with both. Using I Love Paris Apartments again in March.

I know, I know ... I didn't say Paris Perfect was the least expensive of all the agencies out there. :) We did have one of the more luxurious apartments (the Bordeaux -- 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, air conditioning, terrace, view), but at $140 a night per person, it seemed a real bargain for us foo-foo girls to be able to spread out in our huge, gorgeous apartment. And I forgot to add, great customer service during the entire stay (must have been included in the price!).

I agree with Gabriel. We've arranged to rent an apt in Paris next May through ParisAtittude.com. Haven't stayed there yet, but Amelie Grousseau at PA has been wonderful. I researched thoroughly before going with them and got a lot of feedback from people who'd used them and loved them. They have an easy to use website with a wide price range.

Thank you all so much for the advice! I will look into all the sites you suggested. I had looked at Paris Perfect and noticed how pricey they are - I'm sure it was very nice!! Thanks again and I'll let you know what our experience is.

Also check out www.historicrentals.com. I have rented apartments in New Orleans and in Paris. I rented an apartment from Paris Perfect earlier this year (Cotes du Rhone) and it was fantastic. Of course, there were four of us sharing the cost so it ended up being pretty reasonable. I have also rented an apartment through Relais Bosquet that was really good, and a good price, 139E per night, but that was in February.

I agree with kudos for vacationinparis.com. Staff is extremely helpful and professional and apartment was just as advertised. Having the keys before we left home and dealing with a US-based firm made it very easy.

Lisa, it looks like you have a few options. We used an agency - http://www.rendez-vousaparis.com and had absolutely no problems. The company has been around for many years. I only saw the agent on the day we arrived, when she handed us the keys; however, she said she was always available by phone. We never needed her. The website has extensive explanations and photos (go to the first link on the home page, within the body of the introduction). The pictures and explanations load in Word format.

The apartment was a 1-bedroom (100-200 euros p/night), but the living room (very spacious) had a pull-out bed, which was comfortable. The apartment idea (we stayed a week) was fantastic. We were able to buy cheese, wine at the Grand Epicerie (7th) and the apt had everything we needed, including washer/dryer. The website was very accurate, in fact, the pictures did not do the apartment justice.

We were required to make a deposit of 50% before arrival, and had no problems with the financial transaction(s).

Hope you find a reasonably-priced place and have fun in Paris!

I have a friend who swears by holiday-rentals.co.uk. She says it's the best and won't use anything else. No personal experience, but she and other friends have always used this site for rentals in France and had great outcomes.
