I will be staying on Isle de la Cite (Hospitel Hotel Dieu) on July 23rd. On the 24th we want to rent a car to drive to Normandy. We prefer not to pick up in the city. What is the best AutoEurope rental location to take the train/metro/cab to that is safely out of the city center?
I need the stress of driving in Paris like a hole in the head!

We took the train to Rouen to pick up a car for our last trip to Normandy.
Lucky you to be staying at the Hotel Dieu. You'll love the garden.
We took the train to Bayeux and stayed there without a car. Caen is a short train ride from Bayeux.
We rented for one day so we could see the American Cemetery, Aromanches, Point du Hoc and more. Total cost was 60€ including the gas we used. Rented the car from the local Renault dealer by the station (Rick mentions the place in his book). You might consider doing this to save money on those says when car is not needed.
