Renting a flat in Paris

I know this has been covered before, but I'm interested in any recent experiences anyone has had renting a 1BR flat in Paris, preferable in the 5th or 6th Arr. What websites did you like? Any particular apartment to recommend? Any possibility of 'reasonable' prices with the current dollar/euro ratio?

My wife and I just returned from renting a studio apartment in Paris for 6 days. We used "Vacation in Paris". They are a American company and you pay in dollars. The studio was exactly as the web site said it was. NO SURPRISE!!! I will certainly use them again, but I would upgrade to a one bedroom to give us a little more room. Our studio was $140 per night. I had to put down $150. for the key retun but I received that back today. I had the key before I left the USA. They have apartments in all ARR. We were in the 7th and found the Metro to be very usefull. Good luck,

Hi Jean--We also used vacationinparis and were extremely happy with them. Everything was as described. They are a U.S. company, so pricing is in dollars.

I've used VBRO to great success, but bear in mind, they are just the marketing front for each individual owner.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've used vrbo frequently in other locations & have had consistently good luck, but of course the prices in Paris are sky high now with the weak dollar. It's good to know about vacationinparis...there are some good possibilities on their website, too. All helpful hints appreciated.

Parisattitude.com. They took care of rental paperwork between us and the property owner. Our flat was one bedroom and extremely spacious. I believe it was in the 5th. Lots of inventory to choose from in just about every price range. Highly recommended!

We used RentParis last fall and were very pleased with our apartment. It was on the 3rd/4th border right behind the Pompidou. It was about 115 euros a night - one bedroom. It was small but clean and had full kitchen with washer/dryer. I would definitely stay there again.
I don't remember the exact apartment name, but if you are interested in something outside of your preferable Arr., let me know and I can find it.

We just stayed in an apt on Rue St. Andre des Arts rented through ILoveParisApartments.com. It was a great location -- close to everything and convenient to the metro. Prices not too reasonable, but if you want something nice in a good location, you probably won't get it too cheaply. For us, location & convenience made the price worthwhile.

I've rented a one bedroom in the 5th for next New Years through VRBO, so I can't vouch for it yet. I have used VRBO before in other locations and had good luck. I am actually renting from someone in the US, so I am paying with dollars. I think paying with dollars will give you more bang for your buck, so to speak.
