After spending a few days in Paris we'll be renting a car and heading to the countryside. We'll be heading first to the Loire valley. I would prefer to rent outside the city so I was thinking Orly would be a better place since it's south of the city rather than CDG which is north. We're not taking the train anywhere so buying train tickets to say, Tours and renting a car there doesn't make financial sense. Just checking that Orly makes sense for this. We'll also be coming back to Paris from Chamonix so returning the car there as well. Thanks!

Good plan. We go to Burgundy every year and usually pick up the car at Orly.

Makes sense to me, you don't have to go around or (worse) through the big city either coming or going. Metro and RER can get you between central Paris and Orly.

We also pick up and return our cars at Orly. sometimes we rent and this last year we leased a Peugeot and picked it up there also.
