Rental car in Germany--gemut.com-Sixt

We are renting a car to drive in Germany for a week. I have a quote from gemut.com. I'm believe the agency is Sixt. The quote is extremely reasonable but I've never dealt with gemut.com or Sixt. I'd appreciate any feedback from someone out there who has rented trough them.

Hi Emil,

We rented through Gemut.com 2 years ago and just booked through them again for a fall trip we're taking. I have no reservations about using them. Last time went without a hitch.

Emil, Gemut is a broker and they will go with the company where they can get you the best rate. I have gone through gemut 3 times and as recently as two weeks ago. This trip they used Europcar and before that Avis. I do not remember the company the first time but any they use will be fine. They quote you a rate in U.S. Dollars and will guarantee to hold that rate for you so if the dollar weakens more, as it did in my case, you will know how much to budget for the car. Rates are good and so is their customer service.

We used Gemut last September and give it 2 thumbs up. Be sure you tell them if you have any "unusual" requests. For example, we were 2 couples and wanted the option of having 2 drivers. He researched this and sent us to auto europe. Although the rental was a little more, the fee to add an extra driver was a lot less and a better value in the long run.

Sixt is the largest car rental provider in Germany, market leader. No one else has got more stations, even in rural areas. The rental agents of Sixt speak English and accept all major credit and debit cards.

If you book with Gemut they will e mail your confirmation under Autoeurope. They have an affiliation and you can deal with autoeurope as well. I asked Mr. Bestor about this and he said there could be a little difference in the rates but would be close. Just dealing with different folks when signing up but if you have any problems during your trip you would call the autoeurope customer service which gemut will furnish to you through the email.

Last year and this year I rented through Gemut and was totally satisfied. Last year the car was from Avis, this year from Europcar. No problems or unexpected surprises whatsoever.

Hi,

Sixt are indeed the largest car rental company in Germany and we have a great fleet of top end cars available at very competitive prices. If you need any more information, please feel free to ask.

Emil:

After searching and searching for the best rental deal for my two week trip in 2007 I found Gemut. I received a great deal and wonderful service. I heartily and happily recommend them. Have fun.

I will be in Germany next year, so I did a simple search on the internet and I have found Sixt to be the most expensive for the VW Polo. Again, this is for 14 days from Frankfurt Airport...Sixt was 486 Euro, Hertz website direct was 420 Euro, and Avis through Amex website was 415 Euro.

Just an observation. I was strictly looking at price.
