I'm trying to book tickets for the web price of 45 euros, however when I click on purchase the price comes back at 113 euros with a message to the best of my interpretation saying that the ticket can not be authorized. I'm I purchasing too soon for a May 24th ticket. Thank you

Have you called your credit card company and let them know you will be booking a ticket on a foreign website? I booked one on Renfe a couple of days ago and the first time it did not go through. Once I called the credit card company it worked. Also make sure that you are using Internet Explorer as it does not seem to work well with other browsers.
Jeff is likely bang on....I've just tried it now for your route and day, and am not having any problem making the 45 Euro Web special come up on the payment page.

Earlier this week, I tried to buy a ticket on RENFE. I got all the way though the screens (including completing a "verified by visa request)and got a final message that the ticket could not be processed (by the way, having google translate up in a separate browser was very useful in interpreting the error messages)
The next morning, I got a call from the fraud department at my credit card company asking about the attempt. I told them that I still wanted to make the purchase and they "changed my authorization level". After this, my purchase went through fine.
Norm, the web prices come up on the first page but after you put in your credit card info and click purchase the price changes from web or estrella to a higher price. This happens on every train time I select and every web/estrella fare. Are they all sold out at the web fare/estrella price and the web site has not updated or is there a problem on my end. I am using Internet Explorer. Thanks
Mary....if you've input all your information and clicked on 'Comprar,' then you've just bought a ticket. I would first check with your credit card company again to make sure these charges haven't gone through. After you select the fare, you should see it appear again at the top of the next window, with a little drop-down menu. If you've chosen the Web fare, that little window should show as Web...if you click the down arrow, you should see a little drop-down that will allow you to change it to other fare classes, if you wanted to. But once you fill in your contact info and credit card info, and hit 'comprar,' I've never known it to change....and the purchase has gone through. So check with your cc company.
