If I buy the web special ticket on line for a Madrid to Seville trip, but due to problems miss my connecting flight and am late and miss my scheduled time, can I exchange my scheduled ticket for a later train or have I lost the money paid? For example buy the 1pm train ticket but due to flight issues now have to take the 3pm train.

If you miss any train in Spain (web special or not), you're SOL.
