Renfe web purchase question

I want to book train tickets on the Renfe website for my trip to Spain in September, but when I go to buy them it wants a "Foreigner ID Number." I read this should be your passport number, but I am in the process of changing my name and getting a passport, so I don't have a number yet and won't for a while.

Is there any way I can still book online without it? Can I use my drivers license number?

That "Foreigner ID Number" is not what you want. You want to use either "Passport" or "Other Documents".

I don't know if a driver's license would work. Try putting it in under "Other Documents" and see what happens.

If I were you, I would wait to do this until you get your new passport.
