I am traveling to Paris in May and will be using Marriott points for my hotel stay. My wife and I will be making our first trip to Paris as we celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary.
I have narrowed the hotels down to either the Renaissance Paris Vendome near the Louvre or the Paris Marriott Champs Elysees. What are the recommendations on which of these two hotels is the best to stay?

I haven't stayed in either one but I'd choose the Vendome over the Champs Elysees, just because I prefer the Vendome neighborhood over the Champs Elysees. Happy anniversary!
I'm with Grier. Even with the friends and family rate, I'd choke at the thought of staying at either one, but nix the Champs -- it's out of the way and the area is over-rated.

My sister and I stayed at Champs Elysees right after Thanksgiving 2008. It was a really great price! Cannot believe they now charge over $700 per nite now. Actually it was cheaper than Vendome. I like being in the Champs Elysees neighborhood and the hotel was very professional in every way.

My husband and I stayed at the Renaissance Paris Vendome for a week over Christmas 2009. It was one of the nicest hotels we have ever encountered. The sheets were ironed every day and the room was large and luxurious. We also used points and it was the best investment we have ever made in Paris. Have a wonderful holiday. The location is wonderful. Much less touristy than the Champs. Jan
