I don't know about the airport shuttles, I too used one that Rick recommended, and I think one that I found on the CDG site and both times it was a struggle to find them. One time the shuttle driver picked up the wrong party. I had to call them and wait for another van to show up. It did, but it was a hassle. I think this just might be the way they operate -- not really too customer service oriented.
This is why I am planning to use the RER to get into Paris when I arrive in Sept. I have had good luck with the door to door vans that my hotel books to take me back to the airport when leaving however....perhaps they know the reliable ones.
Good luck!

Hi Maria,
Instead of a shuttle, you may want to use the Air France buses to get to/from central Paris. They leave frequently from terminal 2C at CDG--just buy tickets from the driver (14 euros one way). We took line #4 to the Montparnasse train station and from there it was very easy to walk around the corner to the taxi stand and take a taxi the rest of the way to our hotel. Hassle-free and no worry about pickpockets as on the RER. More info. on the Air France bus is at http://www.cars-airfrance.com/. Roissybus also runs a similar service (http://www.ratp.info/informer/anglais/aeroports.php)

On a recent trip, I arrived at CDG Sunday morning, found the Roissy bus, named for the village where CDG is located, for an easy, comfortable and reasonable priced trip to city. For 8.50 Euro, you will go directly to an area very close to the Opera metro station. You can get anywhere from there. Taxis are also nearby. The bus will make a few stops picking up people at the airport. After the last pick-up, it goes straight into the city with no stops until the final one.

Hi Maria! We used Golden Air (a Rick Steves recommendation) from CDG into Paris and it was a snap. Picked us up right on time, dropped us at our apartment, the driver spoke English, fare was cheaper than a cab--we have nothing but good to say about them. Definitely better than RER then transfering to metro then walking a few blocks from station to apartment with all our luggage. We were very happy with our choice.

I vote for the Roissy bus. RER is exhausting if you have any more than one small carry on. Taxis are expensive (for one). Roissy bus was easy & cheap. Haven't tried a shuttle from the Airport - fiqured it would be to hard to hook up. Always take shuttle from hotel back to airport.

On our 3 trips to Paris,we had used a shuttle service from the airport to our hotel. Each time it was a either hassle finding them,or waiting for other passengers to be dropped off,or just sitting through heavy traffic. It always took about 3 HOURS to get to our hotel. On our last trip from our hotel to the airport, our shuttle company called us right before our pickup, very apolgetic that the driver hadn't shown up and we had no transportation. My first thought was panic, but I got my Rick Steves Paris book out and looked up how to take the Metro and RER to the airport. We couldn't believe how much faster, about 30 minutes, cheaper and easier it was!We will NEVER wait forever on a slow shuttle service...what a waste of time and money. The Metro & RER trains are full of people, many bringing tons of luggage with no problems. The shuttles are slow and expensive.Necessity caused us to discover a much more effecient means of transportation. There are better ways to spend time and money in Paris!
