Verizon tells me that they will add European international calling to my plan for a month on a borrowed mobile phone that they will send me for 30 days. With a $5.00 upfront payment, this makes calls both within France and to the U.S $.99 per minute. Are there more cost-effective and reliable ways to have phone use for infrequent calls while in France? Has anyone had good/bad experience with the borrowed Verizon phone plan I described?
