Hi gang, I made and received confirmation of my reservation for the Reichstag dome. However, has anyone done one of the tours of the building itself in English? I believe that requries a separate reservation and may be a group thing (they're just be 2 of us). Thanks!
The guided tours are excellent! 90 minutes to see the artwork and the architecture including very well thought out explanations on German politics and history. Yes, they are group tours but you can register as a single person or couple and they slot you in with another group. At the end of the guided tour they take you to the elevator to go up and see the dome.
I'll second Beatrix's opinion. I took the tour last year (probably based on Beatrix's recommendation). The tour is excellent. You learn not only about the history of the building (which is quite interesting ... we saw graffiti left by Russian soldiers in 1945 among other things), but also see a number of art installations and learn how the parliament works today. I really thought it was well worth it.
