Going on a bus tour including Vienna in June. We have a free evening and I would like to take a small group to a memorable Heurigen. In 2004 we enjoyed an evening at Hans Maly in Grinzig but wondered if we should try a different place this year.

It is a short way out of Vienna in Sievering (near Grinzing minus the flood of tourists). It is right in the vineyards and has excellent estate wines. You can also take the D tram from the Ring to the end of the line in Nussdorf (about 15 min) and find the many that are there. Grinzing, while quaint, is only for the tourists. If you have to go there, go to Zum Martin Sepp.
