I'll be traveling in Netherlands and France in July of 2011 and am hoping to watch some live football (a.k.a. soccer). I expect to be in Amsterdam, Paris, and SE France. Does anyone have recommendations for stadiums that would be good to watch a game? Any other tips for attending a game? Thanks,

Bad news. The European soccer seasons run from Sept to April/May.
During the Summer you have a better chance at seeing the top clubs here is the US, as they often play exhibition matches around North America and Asia. In fact Barcelona will be playing matches in DC, Dallas, and Miami next summer.

Even though it's the off-season you can still tour some stadiums. The most successful clubs have good museums and stadium tours.
