Recommendations please for a hotel in Paris for June

I am planning to be in Paris for 7-10 days in early June. Budget (as in the cheaper, the better), cleanliness and location are my priorities. How soon do I need to make reservations? Please, LESS than 100 euro.

I believe each hotel has it's own policy.

The hotels I have used will accept reservations 3-6 months in advance of your stay.

I would recommend to reserve as soon as possible.

I would start making reservations now.

I'd try now, too, though some places won't take them this early. It IS the most touristed city in the world and you never know when there might be some huge event you didn't know about. I'd get a reservation and then if there is a place you had your heart set on, that won't reserve this early, perhaps you can try again then cancel your first reservation.

Okay. How about some recommendations, then. I have heard that there are adequate rooms for 50 euro or less. Clean is important, shower with water pressure, and location, i.e. close to a "good" metro stop. From looking at the map, I think I'd like the 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th arrondissement, but recommendations are best.

We made our reservations for Paris hotels in January for our July trip this past summer. Had plenty of options to choose from, though some of the more popular places like Grand Hotel Leveque were starting to fill up a bit (view rooms, etc). If they will take your reservation now, I'd do it and cross it off the list!

Be sure to verify your reservations a few weeks before you leave so there are no surprises when you arrive!

We stayed at Hotel Londres de Eifel. Great location - just a stone's throw from the Eiffel Tower. Around the corner from Rue Cler. Clean, nice bathrooms, very nice hosts. I think it was 150-165 Euro maybe? I would stay there again, no question.

For several years I have looked for a better deal in Paris, but thus far have not found one. The Tiquetonne is located on a pedestrian street near several Metro stops. The place has lots of Parisian character and is sooo cheap...50 Euros a night for a double with bath. The location is very convenient for visiting all the touristy places. It was very clean, too. You can read about it on the Eurocheapo.com website: http://www.eurocheapo.com/printer_version.php?hotel=8084
And there are lots of reviews and some pictures on TripAdvisor. The only negative is that they don't book online, so you have to call for reservations. They speak enough English to reserve rooms. The pedestrian street where the hotel is located has many wonderful, inexpensive restaurants full of local Parisians. There are so many other places to spend your money in Paris...and you'll have plenty left over if you only spend 50 Euros a night at the Tiquetonne! Have a fabulous time in my very favorite city, Chani!

Thanks, Terry. Paris is my fave also, though I fell in love with Venice recently and there's nothing quite like Jerusalem. I will call this hotel and see what they say.

PS - Bend isn't bad either. One of my best days was at the High Desert Museum!

Just got back from 4 nights in Paris at the end of a 3 1/2 week trip. We stayed at the Hotel Kensington (it's in the book). About 60 Euro if I recall (still jetlagged) Not fancy but clean, comfortable and a great location, between Rue Cler and the Eiffel Tower. I would definitely stay there again. Good luck!

For that many days, have you considered renting an apartment? That is what we are doing for our 10 days/nights the end of December and beginning of January. It may save you money on lodging, and it would save on food as you wouldn't always have to eat out. There are many websites to find apartment rentals. Just Google "Paris Vacation Rentals" and you will have many choices of companies. We are renting ours through VRBO (Vacation Rentals By Owner). Most people on that site are paid in Euros. We are paying for ours with U.S. Dollars. Good luck.

We stayed at the Hotel Le Sevigne (in the Rick's book). We both really loved it. It was a block away from the St Paul metro stop, walking distance to the Cathedral Notre Dame, and close to great restaurants! We paid 90 euros for a double ensuite. The room was a little on the small side, but we also didn't spend much time in it! I would definetly stay there again. Avoid the restaurant/bar on the corner of the street though. Very expensive for nothing out of the ordinary. The hotel breakfast was good for 7 euros. All the other restaurants were charging thesame, but no refills on your coffee, and no cheese and meat. I made my reservation in December for late May.

I stayed at the Hotel Leveque in Rick's favorite neighborhood last summer - can't remember the cost, but I'm sure it wasn't over 100 euros. The Eiffel Tower is just down the street, handy for picnics from the carts near the Hotel. I have also stayed comparatively cheaply at the Esmeraldo - an ANCIENT hotel within sight (and sound!) of Notre Dame, just around the corner from the Shakespeare Book shop; and the Hotel Quai Voltaire right on the Seine. Of these 3, the Leveque is the most modern - but the Voltaire has a tiny balcony overlooking the Seine & bookstalls, just down from the Musee D'Orsay; and the Esmeraldo is FULL of character, tho it may be TOO rustic for some. In fact, I popped in for old times sake last summer, and it was looking a bit more run down than I remembered. (This hotel was pictured in the children's book "Linea in Monet's Garden.")

Thanks, everyone.

I have chosen a couple that sound right for me. Neither one is anywhere near taking reservations for next June, but I will file the information away and try again in 3-4 months.

When I was in Paris recently I visited my favorite hotel to see if I could make a reservation for next spring. Their website wasn't allowing reservations that far ahead. By speaking directly to the manager I was able to arrange two weeks next year, with the proviso that I inform them when my plans are set for arrival date. I suggest that you call your chosen hotel during their business hours (approximately 8 am to 6 pm, but it varies) and speak to the desk personnel. Popular places are booked way in advance, even a year.

Choice A - I phoned today. The woman just said June was too far away and to call back at the beginning of May. I will probably try again in March.
Choice B - has a website. The rates are only through March (high season begins April 1), so I will keep an eye on it, and contact them when they have the rates up.

I would suggest staying in an apartment - often cheaper and more comfortable than hotels. They usually come with washer and dryers also which is good if you are staying for 7-10 days. You will have lots of choices if you rent now rather than later.

I looked at the apartments. . . there was nothing reasonable at less than 100 euro a night. There are several hotels at much less than that. I'm sure the 20-40 euro I'll save every day will more than compensate for not being able to cook my own meals and pay for one coin-op laundry cycle.

I just returned from Paris and stayed at The Hotel de Tulipe by the Eiffle Tower. The rooms had Paris charm, with a beautiful courtyard. One of the receptionists was beyond rude and arrogant. Stay away!
