Reasonable hotel near Zurich airport

You do not need an "airport hotel." It is only 12 minutes by train from the downtown Zurich station (Zurich HBF) to the airport, and the train goes right into the terminal. There are several moderatly-priced hotels within walking distance of the train station. Hotel Bristol, Hotel St. Josef are close, Hotel Adler a bit longer walk but in the charming altstadt. Or you can try Priceline-people have reported gettin ggreat deals that way. You won't end up within walking distance of the station, but you can cab there from the hotel and then train to the airport.

Thanks again, Lola. We are driving so we were wanting to turn car in @ airport the evening before departing. That was why we wanted to be close enough for shuttle.

Hi GaryI forgot about you having a car! I guess that changes things, depending on where and when you turn in the car. Moderately-priced travel in Switzerland is not as easy as it was when the Swiss franc was 80 cents. did you try Tripadvisor to search for hotels in a particular area within a specific price range? sometimes that works to identify possibilities.

A Best Western hotel is located at the airport with a free shuttle service. I have not stayed there, however, I have stayed at other Best Westerns in Europe and have been very satisfied. They tend to be more upscale than the Best Western chain here in the States. Have a great trip!

We stayed in the Ibis Airport Messe hotel last Monday night. Perfect for us, as they provided an airport shuttle service. - cost 99 chf for double room. Breakfast was an extra 15 chf per person, It was about 10-15 mins drive from the airport. As far as hotels in Switzerland go, this was the cheapest hotel we stayed in on our 10 day visit by a mile.
