Reasonable Hotel in Zurich

Laurie, Hotel Bristol, a 5-minute walk from the train station, has quad family rooms. We had the one on the top floor, which was very nice---bright and spacious, with hardwood floor and modern decor.

It is across the river and up some steps. The easiset way there is just to walk; a bus or taxi would take a longer route.

Hotel Krone is very nice and not far from the main train station. You can reach it by tram lines 11 and 14 from the station, and they run until shortly about 1 am. Not sure about quad rooms there. http://www.hotel-krone.ch/

If your train passes by Richterswill on the west side of Lake Zurich, you could get off the train there, walk across the tracks, and be at a very nice youth hostel on the lake. We stayed here the night before we flew home out of Zurich. It was easy, and the train went right to the airport. It was very clean, stark as are most, and cheap for Switzerland.

I also recommend Hotel Bristol. It's only 2 blocks from the station and the walk is pretty, especially at sunrise. Weekends are much cheaper in Zurich.

Although we haven't stayed there before, I just booked a quad room (for early April) in Zurich at the Hotel Adler. It received very high ratings at tripadvisor, and the rates are reasonable for a quad and for an expensive city like Zurich. It is in the city center, so not too far from the train station. www.hotel-adler.ch
