Any hotels or hostels in Paris under $80 that anyone would recommend? We fly into the CDG airport and are taking the train to our next stop... would like something in the close proximity of both locations...
Do you have RS Paris Guide Book yet? If so, great. IF not, you should get one soon as it is full of information that you can use in finding a place to stay. We use it every time we return to Paris. Happy travels

If you are looking to get to/from CDG easily and want a budget hotel, look at places in the 10th Arron. near the RER stop by Gare du Nord. Lots of reasonably priced places there and very easy connections to CDG and easy quick access to rest of Paris via the Metro.
I just booked Hotel Cambrai for 65 Euro per night. It's a within walking distance of the Gare du Nord. When I looked at the map it's a pretty direct walk to get there. We've never stayed there but the reviews seemed ok.
Layla: When you say you want something "in close proximity to both locations" what do you mean? Close to both the airport and the railroad station? Which railroad station? None is close to CDG. The Gare du Nord, though not close, is the railroad station in Paris that is easiest & quickest to get to from CDG, but is that the station from which you will depart for your "next stop"?
While RS books are good, they are not really helpful for those who are looking for true budget accomadation. Not middle class budget accomadations( 80-120 euros per night) ,, but back packers budget accomadations,, like under 60 euros per night. There are two well known hostels that I know of( there are of course many more, I just have no personal knowledge about them, even second hand) . One is called St Christophers Inn, a young girl at work stayed there and thought it was fine,,clean, newish, etc. Think that was about 35 euros a night, ,more if you get a semi private room. The other is MIJE,, spend the day on a 25 yr old Australian girl who was staying at that one in the Marais( apparently there are severa) and loved it. With your low budget you will need to look at hostels most likely.
There is also a place called "Perfect Hotel" that seems to be hostel like, its in a great area, but reviews do say rooms are a it run down and small. Google for reviews on any place you consider. Tripadvisor.com is a good start.
Good choice...Hotel Cambrai. Good neighborhood, only 5-10 mins. walking to Gare du Nord.
