We are coming off a Med. cruise and are going to travel by rail from Rome to Frankfurt in a 3 day time span. Where would be the most interesting spot to stop and see the sights.

Are you currently on your cruise? If not, when are you travelling? Do you want to stop anywhere in Italy such as Florence or Venice? Or are you more interested in a city in Austria/Germany/Switzerland? When you look at your train trip from Rome to Frankfurt, you go through Munich. That could be a stop. Or, you could choose to go through, and stop, in Salzburg. Also depends on what you enjoy seeing and doing; i.e., museums, cathedrals or just relax in a beautiful setting. Or, maybe you would like to stop somewhere along the Rhine river close to Frankfurt. So many possibilities. Come back with more info on what you might want to do and see.
