Rail pass use on Rhine boat tour

If we take the train from Koeln to Koblenz and then get on the KD line boat will it take one or two days off our pass? In other words, is the Rhine Boat a separate day?

Janet,

We did that a couple years ago, and it is basically like getting the boat ride for free. As said above you get the use of the "day" on the train ride to Koblenz, then show its been ticked that day at the dock and you are good to go.

One thing I did want to point out, is the train station in Koblenz isn't right next to the peer for the boat ride. We took a city bus to get down to the docks. I guess it might be walkable, but we had our luggage so the bus was a much easier option and took us from the train down to the dock since we were actually in route from Koln to Baden-Baden that day via train to Koblenz, bus to dock in Koblenz, boat to Bacharach, then train on to Baden-Baden, all for the cost of a single "train day" and couple euro bus ride.

Just wanted you to look into that since it might make your trip easier since I think it is about a 20-30 minute walk if you don't have much luggage.

Here is some info on the buses if it helps.

DB timetable:

Start: Koblenz Rheinfaehre

Destination: Koblenz Deutsches Eck

Rheinfaehre is one bus stop before Deutsches Eck. Bus line #1. 10-12 minutes by bus (which for me is too far for walking with luggage).
