Greetings!
I will be traveling to Berlin next spring and my travel partner is interested in driving on a track in Berlin. We have heard rumors that these exist but haven't seen anything specific. Does anyone have any information or experience with such a place?
Are you thinking of the Nürburgring? You can drive the track on certain days. But it's pretty far from Berlin. Closer to Frankfurt and Cologne. http://www.nuerburgring.de/en/angebote/driving-experiences/tourist-rides-nordschleife.html
The Lausitzring (30 min from Dresden) has a "driving academy" where you can drive a race car. Probably need to speak German.
If you are interested in the Nurburgring, send me a PM. We were just there in June and it is a truly amazing experience.
You may be thinking about the former AVUS racetrack in South-West Berlin which was closed in 1998. However, part of the track is now used for the A115 motorway which links the A100 inner Berlin motorway at Funkturm with the A10 Berlin orbital motorway at Nuthetal.
