"No Reservation Required" trains

Hi! I am trying to travel from Geneva to Lyon. I found a cheap ticket but it says no reservation required, which makes me a bit nervous. This is mean that there will be plenty of seats at that time (blue period)? Will I for sure get a seat? Below is the ticket: Départ à :11h09 DE LA GARE DE :GENEVA AIRPORT Transporteur :Numéro du train : 625 Confort2nd class Services à bord Période - No seat reservation required Arrivée à :11h16 A LA GARE DE :GENEVA CORNAVIN Départ à :11h29 DE LA GARE DE :GENEVA CORNAVIN Transporteur :Numéro du train : 96562 Confort2nd class Services à bord Période - Blue period - No seat reservation required Arrivée à :13h22 A LA GARE DE :LYON PART DIEU Many thanks!!

The first train is just the shuttle from the airport to Geneva Cornavin, the main station. The train to Lyon is a regional train, no reservation needed, just get on board (and validate your ticket). Go to the platform where the Lyon train is departing from. Hopefully, you'll get there before they spot the train and you'll be first on board and can grab a seat right away. This train originates in Geneva, so it will be empty when it gets spotted on the platform.

Another tip, if you get through customs/immigration early, head down to the platform because there is also a train at 11:06 and 10:54 and about every 15 minutes. So just hop on an earlier train to Cornavin if you can, they are all nonstops and take 14 minutes. These trains all run pretty much empty because they too originate at the airport.

great tip! Can i use the free transport ticket (one can get at the airport) for the train that runs from Airport to Cornavin?

You can use the ticket you already have mentioned in the original post, as it is also a nonreserved ticket.
