"I Amsterdam" card v. Holland Pass

Hello, I will be in Amsterdam for about 48h on Aug. 3/4. I am debating whether or not to purchase an "I Amsterdam" (city card) or a Holland Pass. I welcome your feedback about either of these options. I like the flexibility of not necessarily having to book individual admission times in advance, but also want to ensure that I'm actually saving money if I go this route. I also like the idea of pre-paid travel cards. For reference, I am staying near the Vondelpark. Thanks in advance for any opinions or thoughts.

My research indicated to get the Museumkaart but it is rather expensive and we will be in Amsterdam for 4 days, also staying near Vondelpark.

The real advantage of the IAmsterdam card is that it includes a transit pass. You'll have to do the math, but in general if you visit three covered attractions a day, and you plan on using the trams at least four or five times, you come out ahead.

As always, it depends on how many museums you are seeing. If you aren't going to see enough museums to make an iAmsterdam Card or Holland Pass pay off, you can still buy a separate transit pass. A 48 hour transit ticket is now €12. The Museum Card is good for many museums in the whole country, not just in Amsterdam, and allows you to skip the ticket buyer's line. In 2012, it was about €45. So, for 48 hours it's definitely not worth it, but for 4 days it may be. The places with the long lines are the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, and Anne Frank House (most especially the last). Now the the Stedelijk has reopened, it may have lines too (it was closed when I was there). Other museums don't have lines worth worrying about. If you do want to buy a Museum Card, get it at one of the others.

Thanks for the tips! After pricing it out, it appears to be about a wash, especially since admission to Anne Frank House is not included in the pass. I think a travel card may be a better bet for us.
