I am going to Seville for a few days in April with 1 grandmother, 2 children, my husband and myself. I've been scrolling through recommendations on all sorts of sites for weeks evaluating 2BR apt rentals or 2 adjoining rooms in a hotel in Seville. I'm at my wit's end because in nearly every listing, there are multiple complaints about not being able to sleep...either from motorbikes/taxis zipping around outside all night, tappas bars/restaurant noise, or paper this walls. This is in all price categories, seemingly in all areas of the city. I am going to Seville, and I am eager to do so but does anyone have ANY suggestions (besides earplugs) as to a reasonably quiet lodging option? Many, many thanks. SuzieeQQ
We stayed at the San Adres Apartments last fall and didn't have problems sleeping. It is listed with Sevilla5.com. The apartments are on a plaza off the street somewhat. We had an apartment that did not front the plaza and it was fine. Sevilla5 has a large number of apartments in all price ranges.
Susie,
Spain is noisy at night. There just isn't any way around it unless you stay out of town. Sevilla is full of great little hotels but the streets are narrow and noise echoes. We spent two nights at the hotel Abanico, a tad out of the central area and with a room on a central courtyard we did fairly well sleeping on 12/22 & 12/23, but in warmer months it may be a different story. It is a more family oriented hotel and you might be ok there. It is a 20 minute walk (if you're slow) to the center of town, but a very safe area. Entry to the hotel is on a busy one way street so getting in and out is an adventure but part of the charm. Sergio and staff are delightful. Great, cheap, restaurants nearby for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
it's not as bad as you have heard. the santa cruz neighborhood has many little allyways and in the maze many family rent their rooms and these places are far from the bars or clubs. i stayed at one family house once and they live down stairs but with a couple of rooms on the roof top. very quite at night but you can sit outside drinking if you want, great times. If you have the address you can figure out the location and if it's not too close to the biz area you'll be fine. Note the santa cruz area is closed to taxi, so you should hear no car passing by, but you'll drag your bags to the door on your own.
Was in Seville in October and stayed in a hostal, but would not meet your specifications. Did scout out for my next visit (hopefully in the spring) and decided on Patio Santa Cruz -- Small, 15 or so rooms, in the Santa Cruz area that someone esle mentioned in the postings here. On a quite street (no cars as it is too narrow) but close to larger streets in a minute or so. Might or not might work for you, but check the web site.
