we are flying into Paris CDG on July 20. We need to go to Bourg D'oisans, the quickest way. I have checked and the TGV runs from there to Lyon Exupery airport.2 hrs.ride. then, it says we can get a train 15 mins after our arrival in Lyon to Grenoble, where we can rent a car and drive 50 mins to Bour D'oisans. Not sure if we would have enough time to get from one track to the other in Lyon as it leaves 15 mins. after our arrival on the TGV, because I don't know if it runs from the airport in Lyon or we would have to go to a different train station in Lyon. Is there just one station there? Other option Rent a car in Lyon and drive 1hr. 46 mins. to Bourg D'oisans. Other option is fly air france from Orly airport-Paris 45 mins to Lyon and rent a car from there. Not sure if there is a shuttle between airports in Paris. We are already flying on an overnight flight 7 hours from Toronto, Canada so I don't want to be travelling a bunch of hours on top of that. Any suggestions? Thanks Chris
Air France flies direct from CDG to Lyon where you could rent a car. There are about 6-8 flights a day.
The Lyon St Exupery airport is a pretty long way from central Lyon - the express tram takes half an hour. Are you sure there are no trains from CDG to Lyon Part Dieu (the central station where you can change to trains to Grenoble)? If there are no direct trains from CDG to Part Dieu it would be cheaper to take the RER train from CDG to Gare de Lyon in central Paris and take a TGV from there to Lyon (there may also be direct TGV from there to Grenoble).
Additional suggestion: there are high-quality regular bus services direct from St Exupery to Grenoble that would be cheaper and more convenient than going to central Lyon to get a train. See http://www.faurevercors.fr/faurevercors_web/UK/PAGE_NAVETTE.awp
