Quickest way from Interlaken to Lugano or Como

Actually traveling from Lauterbrunnen to either Lugano or Lake Como. Seems like I have to go back / up north to Lucerne, 5 plus hours. Though geographically I really need to head about 2 hours southeast to hit Lugano. Any suggestions?, thank you

We did this some yrs ago and just decided it would be a travel day. Lauterbrunnen to Lucerne (see town for 1.5 hrs then continue to Lugano by train., stay 2 nites then ake a bus from Lugano to Mennagio then ferry to Varenna on Lake Como. Seems like alot but it was ok .
It is the way it must be done God gave us mountains and it is the current routing to Italy unless you are super wealthy and have a pvt plane.

I've just checked the Swiss Rail website and the journey via Lucerne is shorter and has far less changes than going via Spiez and Brig two changes via Lucerne, at Interlaken Ost and Lucerne itself the other way was six changes

You have to go around those mountains one way or another. either Interlaken to Lucerne to Lugano (change there for the train to Como); or Interlaken to Spiez to Milan, change there for either como or Varenna. This route may have an additional change at Brig.

Thx all for the help. It def seems Lauterbrunnen - Interlaken - Lucerne - Lugano is the route. Recently spoke with someone who rented a car in Interlaken & drove direct to Lugano in a little over 2 hours. I checked rental cars there - looks like it might be an option - can rent something there & drop of in Lugano for about $100 - may be worth it ???
