Questions about Accomodations in Germany

What time is breakfast usually served?

Will most places allow you to keep your bags there before you check in or after you check out?

Specifically...

Alte Thorschenke in Cochem

Hotel Rheinfels in St. Goar

Gasthof Goldener Greifen in Rothenburg ODT

King's Hotel First Class in Munich

Also, I've read that the Gasthof Goldener Greifen offers a laundry service for a small fee. If we check in at 17:00, could we expect to have it done before check out the following day?

"What time is breakfast usually served?"

Usually starts around 7:30 or 8:00.

"Will most places allow you to keep your bags there before you check in or after you check out?"

I've never stayed anywhere that didn't.

Hotel Rheinfels: views are great but it's a long uphill walk that dissuades guests from returning to town. I prefer to stay down in town.

Thanks for the reply and additional tip on Hotel Rheinfels...looks like I'll be searching for other accommodations in St. Goar.

Hotel Rheinfels does look like it is in town. It's on Herrenstraße, which is the main street in town. There is, however, a hotel up on the hill at the castle, I also thought is was hotel Rheinfels.

Apparently the Hotel at the castle is Schloß Rheinfels.

It's funny, I am not normally an early riser, but somehow jetlag resets my clock, and in Germany I am up at 6 AM, shower, dress, and I am ready to go. Most places ask me what time I want breakfast, and I say 7 AM. They usually suggest 7:30. Maybe they really want 8. My last trip, I stayed most of the time in Privatzimmer, and I had to insist on 7:30. One place in the Harz is a fairly large lodge, and they just said breakfast starts at 7:30.

Oops! I was thinking of the Villa Rheinfels. You can ignore me on that, Brad.

Thanks guys...I am looking to get an early start on most days as well, and I don't want breakfast holding me up! 7:30 - 8:00 should work though.
