Trying to choose between Isle sur la Sorgue or Vaison la Romaine to spend 2 nts. lodging. Realize the former is easier to get to, as we will not have a car, but we could more easily do a day trip there than to Vaison l.Romaine. The real ques. is which town has more to do , ie: enough to fill up 2 dys?? We will have a home base of Arles for most of the rest of our Provence time. Many thx.

I don't think you can go wrong in either place but I loved Vaison. If you are there on a Tuesday, you'll experience a wonderful Provencal market. The medieval part of the town is beautiful and worth taking your time to wander through it. There are Roman ruins in the newer part of town. You can do a wine tasting of wines from the surrounding villages at Cave la Romaine, near the TI. The TI also has info on hiking and biking. Enjoy your trip!
