Hello,
I am going to Paris soon, and would like to have some money on hands upon arrival. Banks charge too much for exchange. What are other ways to get some euros? Have you heard about http://www1.foreignmoney.com/ ? Is it safe to buy money from them?
"Have you heard about http://www1.foreignmoney.com/ ? Is it safe to buy money from them?" The "www1" address leads me to believe that it isn't a safe website. Just hit any one of the multiple ATMs at the airport when you arrive.
Safe? Maybe. Cost effective? Never!
Wells Fargo charges about 5% over the interbank rate, BofA about 5½% over. I don't think you will get better rates than them, anywhere.
Update: right now, for €1000, Wells Fargo wants $1,294. Foreign Money wants $1362 (10% over). "nuff said?
Very simple! Just go to the ATM located in the airport in Paris. Take out your daily limit each time.
Notify your bank of your departure and return dates and the countries you intend on visiting.
