I purchased an item from a store in Prague. The item cost 940 Koruna (about $60.00 USD). When I received my bank statement, it showed a charge of $91.50. Does anyone have any idea what the additional $30.00 might have been for?
They could have put the charge through incorrectly as that seems like quite a big discrepancy. Check with your Credit Card or ATM provider to see what amount of Koruna were charged if it doesn't show on your statement. They will also be able to explain the fees that could be included in the transaction amount. If you have a receipt and it was charged incorrectly, you could dispute the amount with the bank.
I would not be surprised if it was a hidden fee on your card. Some banks outside of Western Europe will charge fees for processing cards from outside of their country.
