Hello! I am going to stay 10 days in the "Going am Wilden Kaiser" Austria hiking for teh first time. I have been searching how to get there but besides the google map- take the long distance train IC at 3:10pm toward Schwarzach-St. Veit and getting off at the St. Johann in Triol. And then take a Taxi to Tirol. My question is is this the only public transportation that i can use? what will be the cost for the IC train? and the taxi to Going town? Much appreciated since this is my first trip there! best,
Seunghee
If you use the Austrian Rail website, www.oebb.at, you can find information about connections and fares. It looks like you take an EC from Munich to Wörgl, then an Austrian train (IC or S-Bahn from there to Kitzbühel and a local bus from Kitzbühel to Going. The fare, according to Austrian Rail, depending on trains taken, is 35€ to 37€. There are other connections available for other prices.
