Public transportation during public holiday in Switzerland

Hi,

I've just found out that during my trip to Switzerland in coming May-June, there is a public holiday on 1st June(Whit Monday).

My concerns:

Are all shops close on the day?
What about public transportation?Will it still be in operation with same time schedule?
My plan on that day is to go up mount Titlis, is it still doable?

Any advice is appreciated.

The best way to confirm this is to go to the Swiss Rail Website (www.sbb.ch/en) and use June 1 as a travel date. I did, and it appears the trains and funiculars are operating on a regular schedule that day.
