We have rented a villa just outside of St. Remy at the end of May for 7 days of heaven. I have a couple of questions to ask. 1) Can anyone recommend a good wine tour that would do a pick-up in St. Remy and take us to the Chateauneuf du Pape region? 2) We have a history buff in our group as well as some serious shoppers. Can anyone recommend a village that would have an appeal for both?
3) Any must-do day trips? We will have a car. Thanks very much!
Pont du Gard for a day trip.
I recall my wife liking some of the shops in Arles which has a fine Roman amphitheater. Don't miss the perched villages and scenery of the Luberon. The Camargue for its flamingoes, black bulls and white horses is a good day trip and Aigues Mortes while you are there.
maybe you can drive to the les baux village to see the ruined castle. there are a lot of really old siege weapons on display to tell the story of the castle. the walk up to the castle has a lot of shops along the sides so you can shop there while the history buff visit the castle ruin.
