We had planned to do a week in Provence in August. I know it will be crowded- but how bad is it? Being told to completely avoid it..Thx, Steve

I have been in August and except for Gordes, it was ok. Some little villages have min. parking also. Make sure you have your lodging/car reserved well ahead. yes there are crowds here and there but IMO The french Rivera is much worse with crowda and bumper to bumper.
