Does anyone have any recommendations for gîtes in Provence (central like St-Rémy, Avignon, etc.) for 4 people?

We have reservations to stay at Mas San Antoine on the road between Avignon and St. Remy this summer. While I obviously can't comment on my stay yet, I will tell you that the contact, Pierre, has been absolutely lovely and helpful in our planning stages. The web site is www.massaintantoine.com check it out. They offer lots of little extras, like a cold supper waiting in your apartment when you arrive and weekly pizza parties by the pool. It looks good to me!

Bonjour Maureen! After hours & hours of internet, we decided on Mas de Grasset in St Rémy for a 9 day stay in october 2008. Arlette, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with, especially if you happen to speak french. There are so many places out there, I had also gotten very good responses from several chambres d'hôtes as well, it was hard to choose...
