Can anyone recommend a place to stay from your experience in Aix or the Hill towns of Luberon. I plan on renting a car and spending 4 or 5 days in that area. I need to keep it at or around 70.00 euro for 1 person?
I also need a recommendation for Nice or near there ..same price range.

La Guillone near Gordes should fit your requirements for the Luberon. We had an enjoyable couple of nights there.

We stayed 3 nights in Roussillon at Reves d'Ocres. It was a beautiful little hotel, and is centrally located in the Luberon. They have free parking, and you can reach tons of the luberon hill towns from this area.

I have stayed several times at La Cordiere in Lourmarin, France in the Luberon Region. It is quaint, built in the 1600's, very reasonably priced, and
will fit into your price range. Lourmarin is very small, and voted one of France's prettiest villages. There is a wonderful little booklet available called "Provence Byways" (google) that has all kinds of unique road trips that begin and end in Lourmarin. I have very fond memories of my stay in Lourmarin and the surrounding area, it is very bucolic.
