I have sort of an odd request. My partner and I are going to visit friends who just moved to Nice, and while we are there we want to propose to each other for our wedding in August (Yes, it is planned, not a surprise proposal). Does anybody have an idea for a nice, somewhat secluded beach on the Rivieria (not too crowded but it doesn't need to be vacant)where we could do this? We will be staying in Nice and Antibes. Pete, There is a beautiful hotel and restuarant in Eze-the- Village with a wonderful view of the sea. It isn't a beach but... I don't remember the restuarant in the Negresco Hotel but it is such a neat place to visit and see the beautiful chandelier. Castle Hill in Nice has views of the Mediterranean. There are also lovely gardens at the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild at Cap Ferrat. We will be in Nice on April 17 and staying until the 21st. We haven't been to the gardens and they are on our to-do list. Wherever you choose, have a great time!

None of the beaches eill be crowded in April, but the suggestion of the gardens at the Ville Ephrussi is excellent.

There are some lovely restaurants on the beach at Villefranche-sur-Mer.
