problem with hotel.de

We were first told by email that hotel.de had found us a hotel room in Berlin in September. Minutes later they sent an email saying the room was not available. Weeks later, our credit card was charged for a "no show!" Visa won't help because we don't have a receipt. We don't have a receipt because we didn't go to the hotel. The perfect fraud. Any advice?

wow, what a rip off, did you by chance keep the email saying they had no room available?? I can't believe Visa was so unhelpful.

Which hotel was this ( "Hotel De " is correct name??) . How did you find out about this hotel. and , have you contacted them? Have you kept correspodance ,, at very least post a review about this practice on tripadvisor.com

we were in an internet point in the Potsdam train station, and the printer did not work and we could not save emails. By the time we knew the credit card had been charged, AOL had deleted the old mail. Hotel.de is an internet service that finds hotel rooms. The hotel was the Belmondo.

Call VISA again. Chances are a different agent can help you.
