Four of us will be visiting Paris at the end of July. We are interested in a private guide who can drive us to Normandy and who is also knowledgable about the area and the history. Can anyone recommend such a guide?

Holly, Are you primarily interested in WW-II history, and were you thinking of just a day trip? It would probably be better to take the train to Bayeux for one night and take one of the excellent tours offered in that area. They provide transportation to the various sites, and there are both half-day and full-day tours available (depending on which firm you choose). While there you could also see the famous Bayeux Tapestry (which depicts a much earlier battle) and visit the WW-II Museum there. Happy travels!
