Thanks for replying to my question for the price of meals in Portugal. I am interested in moderate price for the meals. I am not particular. Just want to know how much money to plan for.

You don't say what your preferences are as to: light lunch or big mid-day meal? Do you like to have the occasional "picnic" meal with stuff from the market stall or grocer? Do you drink wine with meals? Do you drink soft drinks (colas)? Are you a fish eater? So without any information from you except for the word "moderate" and your "moderate" may be my "exorbitant", I will tell you that in Portugal I would calculate €35 per day. That would be for me, you understand. And I do like wine.

The reason people are not answering your question well is because food costs can vary widely depending on what type of food/restaurant you eat. But here is what I found: Breakfast - a pastry and drink can be had for under 5 euro Lunch - a sit down café type meal can be had for about 15 euro Dinner - a decent sit down meal of traditional fare can be had for about 15-20 euro.
Wine is cheap - expect to pay no more than 3 euro a glass for a house wine One can easily stay under 50 euro a day if you plan well.
