Pre-tour weekend

We are taking the RS Paris tour in June. We arrive at CDG Friday morning and are planning to rent a car and head to Mont-St-Michel for the first night. Is it doable to stop at Giverny on the way and get to MSM in the afternoon? We would like to see the Bayeux tapestry and the WWll sites on Saturday and be back in Paris( after dropping the car at CDG) for the start of the tour on Sunday at 3:00. Any suggestions on best location to stay Saturday night? Caen or Bayeux? Thanks for any help!

It is doable, but rough, and will you be a safe driver after a transatlantic flight? Will your fellow travelers fare well after the initial excitement of arrival? I'd book 2 nights in a hotel in Bayeux, check in as soon as possible and freshen up, and reverse order. In June you will have lots of daylight until very late, 10 or so. Check your guidebook, it seems the last entrance to MSM when I was there was around 7pm. Sunset is lovely there.
The rest of your itinerary is fine. Use your RS guidebook to plan and maximize your time, as the maps in the guidebook are very helpful. We wish we had stayed in Bayeux or even Honfleur- loved the area. Have fun!
