In May 2013 we a planning a return trip to our 2 favorite places, the Dordogne & Cinque T. I've been looking at alternatives to get from one place to another, but it seems rather complicated. Fly to Paris? Easy Jet to Toulouse & drive to Carcassone for a night. Drive to Dordogne for a few days, go back to Toulouse to drop car & fly Easy Jet to Milan? Shuttle to train station then couple of trains to CT. Spend a few days. Return to Milan by train & fly back to States from there.
Anyone know of a better plan by train or car? Thanks for any help.
Flying in to Toulouse, or Bordeaux, is a good plan. Carcasonne is a bit in the wrong direction. I would not go there if pressed for time, as there's too much great stuff to see in the Dordogne and the Lot. Flying to Italy is the way to go, if you can swing it. Open-jaw return is a no-brainer.
