Hello! My name is Kristin and I'm 26, I'm traveling for the first time to Europe with plans to visit Switzerland, Germany, and Austria in 2 weeks. I will be flying into Vienna and staying 3 nights and 4 full days. I then fly to Munich and plan to spend 2 days in Munich and and one day each to travel to Fussen/garmisch and Rothenburg. I was hoping to make one of those days a quick overnight or day trip to Prague and have found cheap travel via bus to Prague from both Munich and Vienna. My question is I'm kind of crunched for time on this vacation and I am going to have to sacrifice something, so would it be better to sacrifice one of my days in Vienna, one of my days in Munich, or to wait to do Prague when I have more time to enjoy it? Thank you!
Skip it. Prague is an over four-hour train trip from Vienna or Munich. Go again when you can devote a few days, and combine it with Dresden and Berlin (all within close proximities to each other.)
I agree with the other poster leave Prague for another trip. I just returned last wk from Prague and there is alot to do and see there. We stayed 4 nights and were also fortunate to visit Cesky Kumlov on our drive from Vienna to Prague.
To go the distance , spend time in travel and only have enuf time for a quick visit is not good use of vacation time. And to cut time in Vienna would be an even bigger sacrifice, imo.
Thanks so much both of you! That gives me peace of mind :)
