Prague - Berlin - Warsaw - Krakow

I'm considering a trip to include these 4 cities in July-August. I would probably spend about 4 days in each. Is this a reasonable itinerary? Time allocation?

What is the best route? I expect to fly open-jaw, but Krakow is not an option.

What are the trains like between these cities?

I have been on an on overnight train from Prague-Krakow and it was fine. Took some daytrips from Prague and the trains were older but I had no problems. I spent 3 days in Krakow and included a morning in Aushwitz and I saw plenty. Unless you want to do more day trips in Krakow, 4 days might be too much. 4 days in Prague was very comfortable and I spent one day on a day trip to Kutna Hora. However I am not a museum person and didn't spend much time at them.

It has been years since I have been to Berlin, so I am sure that lots have changed. It does seem that you could spens a week there with plenty to see and lots of day trips to take.

Agree that 4 days in Krakow is probably more than you need. On the flip side, I found that the two nights I spent in Warsaw wasn't nearly enough. Go with the 4 there.

For flying open-jaw, you may want to consider this order (or the reverse): Berlin, Prague, Krakow, Warsaw.

Hi! The night train between Krakow and Prague was fine; we had fun, actually, even if we didn't sleep all that well.

I'll chime in to say that I'd agree; 3 nights is plenty for Krakow. It's an amazing city, but easily covered in a few days. We spent three nights there (including a day trip to Auschwitz) and felt that was plenty. Four in Prague is a good start, too.
