Arriving Madrid early one morning and leaving the following night. Love to visit the Prado and Palacio Real. Is a reservation advised, and if so, will it really save us time? Thank you all for your help.

Sharon - You don't say what time of year this trip will take place. In the high season (May to September) it might just be necessary. One time I had to stand in line for the Royal Palace for an hour, and that was on a Sunday in December. IT probably is a good idea on such a short trip.
