Pousadas and Solares in Portugal

I'm starting to plan a 2 or 3 week trip to Portugal, and I've been looking at the Pousadas and Solares as places to stay along the way (outside of a few days in Lisbon). From what I've seen, Solares look like what would be called a "Bed and Breakfast" here, whereas Pousadas are more like small, boutique hotels that have been created in restored historic buildings. Am I right, or am I missing something?

Any comments or suggestions about either type of accomodation, or specific recommendations?

I'm thinking about traveling there next March or April.

we were at the Pousada in the algarve visiting. It was relaxing, beautiful, quiet, sea views, elegant but not the Ritz -type.
I just wish I had the euros to stay there.

Far and away, my favorite B&B in the Algarve is Das Dunas in Carrapateira (near Sagres). You can call the folks there at +351 282 973 118.
