We are currently sitting in our hotel room in Lauterbrnnen watching it pour down rain, while it is beautiful we were thinking of getting out of here for a rainy day trip- any suggestions?

Perhaps you can get a weather forecast from your hotel and see if there is some place, within day trip distance, where it isn't raining. Right now I'm looking at your weather on Google Earth and it seems to show rain in a large area around the Lauterbrunnen Valley, all the way north to Interlaken and paste there.

It is pretty much raining everwhere within 2-3 hours from us.

Oh darn, but yes, that's what it looks like on the weather map I'm looking at. Frustrating. Perhaps a day for indoor activities, I'll leave it at that ;) Or editing trip pics, or a good book.
