Hi, Melinda I just got back from Barcelona. On my list of must do would be La Sagrade Familia. Words cannot describe how beautiful it is inside. But, you should buy tickets in advance since you have limited time. Chose the 9:00 am entry. The rest depends on your interest. If you like architecture, I would also recommend Palau de la Musica Catalana. Again, buy your ticket online for the English tour. It is gorgous inside. And you get to hear a little bit of the organ. If you like to sit outside to eat, I recommend walking up La Rambla Catalunya, the street north of Placa de Catalunya. If you have not walked through any medival towns, you might consider taking a tour of the Barri Gotic. Things I felt were a waste of time: La Rambla going south of Placa de Catalunya, El Corte Ingles department store, and Parc Guell. Enjoy your stay,
chun

Obviously, "must sees" are a matter of opinion and interest. I loved Parc Guell! You could wander for a long time in the Barri Gotic, or in the food market of La Boqueria. You might consider taking the hop-on hop-off bus to get an overview of the city. If you want to do both routes I would suggest buying the two-day pass so you have time for everything. It's not a lot more than the one-day ticket.

We stayed at Hostal Campi. It's near Placa Catalunya and that end of the Ramblas. You don't say when you arrive. If it's high summer, look for AC - not everywhere will have it. At Hostal Campi, only about half of the rooms are ensuite. If that's important to you, pay attention when you book. Three nights means two full days. Must sees:
1. Barri Gotic - The Gothic quarter is definitely worth seeing. I'd suggest the walking tour through the TI. It's one of the best value walking tours I've taken anywhere (about 14 euro per person). Add a stroll on the Ramblas and maybe up the beaches to make it a full day. 2. Moderniste Architecture - Up Passeig de Gracia from Placa Catalunya is the Block of Discord, some of the best and most concentrated examples of the style. Add Parc Guell and Sagrada Familia Cathedral. 3. Decide between Montjuic, in town, you can take a cable car up and watch fountains in the evening, Montserrat, a short drive (or bus tour ride) west of Barcelona that is a famous Monastery, or take a local train north and spend the day at a nice beachtown like Blanes, Tossa de Mar, or Arenys de Mar. 4. I can't take credit for this, but this drive sounds great: - from Girona, to Pubol, Peratallada, the ruins at Empuries, and finishing up in Cadaques.
