Hello,
I'm arriving by plane in Lisbon on July 21st and my first stop is Porto. I'm planning to get there by train. Should I reserve my train ticket in advance or just book it when I get to the train station in case my plane arrives late? Are there a lot of trains going to Porto?
You will have no problem with walking up and buying a ticket. From memory there is a train running approx. every half an hour. You have to catch the train to Porto from station Lisbon Oriente.
That's a Sunday. That route uses fast AP (Alfa Pendular) and IC (Intercidades) trains, both of which require reservations. If you want you can buy on line up to 30 days in advance at www.cp.pt or apparently you could do so as little as 15 minutes before departure at Multibanco ATM machines, or at the station. Standard prices are €24.30 (IC) and €30.30 (AP). Here are the departure times on Sundays: 09:39 10:09 11:39 14:09 15:39 16:09 17:09 17:39 18:09 19:09 19:39 20:09
21:39
Thank you Kevin. I should have added we made this trip in 2004
Thank you all!
